Pfalz, 2017, Riesling 12.0% QbA BD 2017 Riesling Buntsandstein
A new vintage of 2017, rich minerality, elegant wine body with appealing aromas of yellow apple and tangerine.
On the front label you may find a German word “Buntsandstein” which is Red sandstone soil. Usually the the best soils for Riesling; is either slate, shell limestone or sand stone. All of these give a big advantage for an excellent Riesling wine. The type of ground has a major influence to the taste, aromas and the flavor. In this region red sandstone soil are plentiful; many houses and buildings there are made with this material. Therefore the wineries mention this on the label, if they have this type of ground.
